Custom Solutions Sales Director

Overview

Empower is seeking a Custom Solutions Sales Director to lead the growth and expansion of distribution and sales of Empower‑affiliated investment products and Managed Account programs across the assigned region. The role requires exceptional sales, organizational, and communication skills, and focuses on developing and maintaining relationships with advisors and enhancing product utilization.

• Manage all aspects of sales positioning and execution for all affiliated investment strategies and managed accounts.
• Provide competitive feedback from the marketplace and influence product development for investment strategies and managed account programs.
• Act as the investment sales subject‑matter expert for the assigned region, collaborating with Regional Sales Directors and Relationship Managers to extend the investment and managed account capabilities.
• Develop and nurture third‑party advisor relationships in the region through targeted calling and coverage efforts.
• Serve as the primary conduit for the Managed Accounts solution within the region.
• Maintain an accurate, qualified pipeline report for all prospects and sales activity.
• Partner with internal sales to identify, prioritize, and maintain opportunities at all stages of the pipeline.

• Bachelor’s degree in a business‑related field or equivalent experience.
• 10‑15 years of successful sales experience in financial services or distribution organizations.
• Ability to travel 65‑75% of the time or more as needed.
• Comprehensive knowledge of the industry and retirement plans.
• Demonstrated relationship management, project management, and effective communication and presentation skills.
• Familiarity with ChatGPT in the workplace.
• FINRA Series6, 63, and SEC S65 registrations and required state insurance licenses within established timelines.
• FINRA fingerprinting required.
• Strong partnering and collaboration skills to drive collective success in a multi‑channel enterprise.
• Proven advisor relationships within assigned regions.
• Familiarity with retirement plan‑based and retail managed account solutions.
• Additional designation such as CFA, CIMA, or comparable a plus.
• Knowledge of alternative investments a plus.

Base Salary Range: $ – $. Sales positions are eligible for incentives and bonus plans that may significantly exceed the base salary. Compensation may vary based on location, experience, and qualifications.
