Electrical Department Associate (Topeka, KS)

A Electrical Department Associate position is currently open at our Topeka, KS location.

To be an integral part of the retail sales team by demonstrating excellent customer service skills in the store. The ideal candidate enjoys solving problems, works under pressure, sells to customers, and enjoys being part of a team. Teamwork involves making decisions, maintaining good working relationships, and supporting coworkers and business goals.

• Greeting customers.
• Assisting customers with home improvement questions and guiding them toward the appropriate product(s) primarily in the electrical department, but in other departments as needed.
• Maintaining excellent store presentation.
• Being cross‑trained to fill in at other departments.
• Assisting with refunds and exchanges.

Qualified candidates will have a high school education or GED and at least 1 year of retail sales experience, or the equivalent combination of education, experience and/or training. Specific product knowledge and sales experience is preferred, but not required. A varied schedule includes day, evening, and weekend shifts.

• Excellent customer service skills.
• Knowledgeable about home improvement products.
• Knowledgeable about electrical fundamentals.
• Friendly and outgoing personality.
• Motivated, hardworking, and honest.
• Detail oriented.
• Prior electrical trade or sales experience preferred.
