1099 Maintenance Contractor (As‑Needed Basis)

All Ways Community Health Center is seeking a reliable and skilled Maintenance Contractor for light handyman-type work on an as‑needed basis at our Topeka location. This opportunity is ideal for individuals who enjoy working independently and have experience with general maintenance and repair tasks.

This position is structured as an independent contractor (1099) role and is not considered an employee position or eligible for employee benefits.

• Perform general maintenance and repair work, including but not limited to:
  • Minor plumbing repairs (fixing leaks, replacing faucets, etc.)
  • Light electrical work (changing fixtures, replacing bulbs, etc.)
  • Painting, drywall patching, and basic carpentry
  • Repairing or replacing flooring, doors, windows, and fixtures
  • Furniture assembly and equipment installation as needed
• Respond to maintenance requests in a timely and professional manner.
• Complete projects efficiently while maintaining quality workmanship.
• Ensure work is performed in compliance with safety standards and applicable building codes.
• Communicate effectively with management regarding project status or maintenance concerns.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area.
• Manage workload and scheduling effectively to meet project needs.

• $33.00 per hour.
• Hours will vary based on organizational and facility maintenance needs.

• Independent Contractor (1099).
• Flexible, as‑needed scheduling.
• No employee benefits provided through All Ways Community Health Center.

• Prior maintenance, handyman, or facilities experience preferred.
• Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and general repairs.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks.
• Must provide own basic tools and reliable transportation.
• Contractor is responsible for all applicable taxes, insurance, licensing, and work-related expenses.
