Tire Press Technician

Berry Material Handling is a full service distributor for a large group of material handling and industrial equipment manufacturers including Hyster and Yale Fork Lifts. We have dealer locations in Wichita, Topeka, Garden City, and Salina, Kansas.

Pay starting at $24/hour

Responsibilities

• Responsible for effective replacement of forklift wheels/tires in the field
• Plan methods and sequence of performing repairs assigned
• Pre-order all parts and materials required to perform assigned repairs
• Effect the repairs in a safe and effective manner
• Ensure all repairs complete as assigned and the cosmetic appearance are up to standards
• Maintain the work area in a clean and safe condition
• Maintain shop tools, equipment and vehicles
• Maintain personal appearance in a professional and neat condition. Wear all personal protective equipment, as required; and urges others to do so.

Qualifications

• Strong potential to develop good mechanical skills, good communication skills, and safe work habits
• Be able to work independent of direct supervision in a field environment
• Contribution to spirit of teamwork and cooperation through the branch location, specifically with parts personnel and other service technicians
• A technical school or equivalent experience in mechanical repairs is preferred, but not required
• Valid driver's license; clean MVR
• Must be 21 years of age.

Physical Requirements

• Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate construction equipment and facilitate repairs.
• Continuously lifting, carrying, pushing, or pulling 50-100 pounds and/or frequently lifting, carrying, pushing, or pulling 20-50 pounds.
• Regularly required to stand, walk, reach with hands and arms, grasp or pull and lift objects. Occasionally required to sit, climb, and balance, kneel, stoop, crouch, and crawl.
• Consistently exposed to outside weather conditions, fumes, and loud noise.
