Engineering Technician
We are seeking an Engineering Technician to support drilling and subsurface investigation projects. This is a hands-on, primarily field-based role working alongside drilling crews to assist with site operations, sample collection, equipment maintenance, and project support. Ideal candidates enjoy outdoor work, physical activity, and learning technical field processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist drilling crews with field investigations and drilling activities.
- Support site setup, equipment mobilization, and sample collection.
- Load, transport, and maintain drilling tools and equipment.
- Perform preventative maintenance on rigs, trucks, trailers, and support equipment.
- Follow all safety procedures and maintain clean, organized work areas.
- Assist with shop, yard, and equipment preparation between projects.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED.
- Experience in construction, drilling, field services, environmental work, mechanical maintenance, or general labor preferred.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn.
- Ability to perform physically demanding work in outdoor environments.
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel locally and regionally.
- CDL is a plus and may qualify for higher pay.
Work Environment
This position is approximately 80% field-based and 20% shop/office-based, with year-round work and opportunities for training, certifications, and career growth. Travel is primarily local and regional, with occasional overnight assignments.

This is a contract position based out of Topeka, KS.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $26.00/hr individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
