THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION. This National Guard position is for a SURFACE MAINTENANCE MECHANIC LEADER, Position Description Number D1288000 part of the KS Surface Maintenance Manager, National Guard.
Key ResponsibilitiesAs a SURFACE MAINTENANCE MECHANIC LEADER, WL-5801-11, you will assign work orders to specific crew members and selects workers for various jobs on the basis of knowledge, skills, and abilities. Pass on to workers instructions received from the supervisor, demonstrate proper work methods, and starts work. Insure that needed plans, blueprints, material, and tools are available, and that needed stock is obtained from supply locations.
Work along with other workers and sets pace performing non-supervisory repair work of the same kind and level as that done by the group led. Work performed by the incumbent involves troubleshooting, maintenance and major repairs on heavy-duty mobile equipment, combat, tactical, and automotive vehicles. Other duties as assigned.
Work Schedule:
This position works on a 4/10's compressed work schedule with four 10-hour days, Tuesday-Friday each week of the pay period.
Work schedule is subject to change based on mission requirements. Telework: ELIGIBLE FOR SITUATIONAL TELEWORK ONLY, INCLUDING EMERGENCY AND PRESCRIBED "UNSCHEDULED TELEWORK"
