Hourly Wage: $22.17/Regular/Full-Time

Under the direction of the IT Manager, the IT Technician is responsible for the daily monitoring, installation, and maintenance of all Gaming Commission computerized systems, including troubleshooting and upgrading computer hardware, software, and gaming commission networking infrastructure. The technician assesses user training needs, trains users in effective application use, offers recommendations on hardware and software acquisitions, prepares documentation, and provides user assistance to commission personnel.

Systems include the Gaming Commission’s Local Area Network (LAN), digital recording equipment, virtual matrix solutions, CCTV infrastructure, external network connections with the Yakama Legends Casino and Tribal Administration, and proximity access control systems that secure the gaming operation. The IT Technician administers, installs, and maintains gaming commission networking equipment, Windows‑based networking equipment, and digital video networking equipment. The technician is also responsible for commission website design and maintenance, installation and wiring of all network infrastructure and related equipment as directed by the IT Manager, and stays current with technological trends relevant to the Yakama Nation Gaming Commission environment.

• Perform software installations, upgrades, and configurations of IT Manager‑approved operating systems and applications.
• Perform preventative maintenance of all related gaming commission equipment.
• Install, configure, and maintain CCTV cameras and related equipment.
• Install, configure, and maintain all networking equipment including Cisco routers, Cisco switches, wireless access points, Brocade switches, etc.
• Install, configure, and maintain all related computer items including printers, external hard disk drives, scanners, copiers, etc.
• Resolve and repair computers and networking related issues including monitors, servers, internal computer components (motherboard, CPU, RAM, etc.), and external computer components (printers, scanners).
• Install, configure, and maintain shared network devices including network‑based printers and hard drive arrays.
• Configure, maintain, and perform updates to the gaming commission servers including adding and removing users via Active Directory, creating windows shared directories, and securing shared directories with appropriate permissions.
• Utilize ticketing system to close work orders, add notes, add resolutions, and request documents.
• Administer the ticketing system to create reports, track assets, and assign work orders.
• Create, modify, and update passwords and accounts in systems such as Windows Active Directory, , ticketing system, Genetec, and WASP.
• Install, configure, and maintain gaming commission databases including , SQL, Microsoft Access, ticketing system, Genetec, and WASP.
• Organize and maintain IT files, maintain time and attendance files, prepare and maintain accurate leave audit records.
• Compile, submit, and document requisitions and purchases for operational needs.
• Assist the IT Manager with special projects, presentations, correspondence, research, and documentation.
• Ensure adequate inventory of IT department supplies, notify the IT Manager of discrepancies.
• Verify receipt of supplies and equipment, distribute items to appropriate personnel, and track assets.
• Maintain IT department storage inventory and reconcile documents with the Administration department.
• Maintain confidentiality and sign a confidentiality agreement.
• Assist other gaming commission staff as directed by the IT Manager.
