Medical Administrative Assistant
Fuze HR is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Medical Administrative Assistant to provide administrative support within a busy healthcare environment. This temporary full-time opportunity is ideal for an individual who thrives in a fast-paced setting and is passionate about supporting healthcare professionals while ensuring a positive patient experience.
Hourly Rate: $21/hr Key Responsibilities
  • Provide administrative support to assigned physicians and clinical teams.
  • Manage and maintain physician schedules and clinic calendars.
  • Coordinate appointments, referrals, and diagnostic testing.
  • Liaise with internal departments and external healthcare providers to support patient care activities.
  • Process and maintain medical documentation, including reports, referrals, prescriptions, and correspondence within electronic medical record systems.
  • Perform electronic filing and patient chart organization.
  • Schedule patient appointments and assist with clinic operations.
  • Support physician billing processes, including resolving rejected submissions and ensuring accurate documentation.
  • Assist with the coordination and administration of outpatient clinics as required.
  • Maintain confidentiality and accuracy when handling sensitive patient information.
  • Contribute to the smooth day-to-day operation of the clinic through effective communication and organization.
  • Provide coverage and support for other administrative team members when required.
  • Perform additional administrative duties as assigned.
  • Qualifications
  • College diploma in Business Administration, Medical Office Administration, Health Administration, or a related field; equivalent combinations of education and experience will also be considered.
  • Previous experience in an administrative support role in a healthcare setting.
  • Strong knowledge of medical terminology.
  • Experience working with electronic medical records (EMR) or healthcare information systems. Accuro experience is an asset.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a multidisciplinary team environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Professional, patient-focused approach with strong interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and maintain strict confidentiality.
