Position: UNDERWRITING ASSISTANT (HYBRID)

Renewal Support Specialist

We are hiring a Renewal Support Specialist to manage and support the renewal process for our benefits plans. The role involves coordination, reporting, and administrative tasks to ensure a smooth renewal cycle.

Base Salary

CAD $51,383.00 - $79,261.00 per year.

Responsibilities
  • Monitor monthly renewal activity and gather information required to prepare upcoming renewals.
  • Request preparation of required standard reports from the OSA.
  • Follow up regarding renewal report with Account Managers and ensure timely delivery of approved reports.
  • Manage renewal database and update status of activity from start to finish.
  • File renewal and supporting documentation.
  • Manage loading financial information on Advantage for renewals, plan changes, and new business.
  • Prepare EP3 statements for all applicable clients.
  • Provide support for the monthly Claims in Excess review.
  • Prepare ASO reconciliations and transfer ASO deposit calculations in coordination with Accounting Department.
  • Assist in improving departmental processes to meet departmental and company objectives.
  • Manage the Group Underwriting Quote Mailbox.
  • Manage the Group Underwriting Assistant Mailbox.
  • Provide administrative support as required.
Qualifications
  • 3 years of experience in benefits and/or related industries (preferred).
  • Post‑secondary degree or diploma.
  • Understanding of group benefits and administrative sales support function (asset).
  • Superior organizational and planning skills.
  • Excellent communication and problem‑solving skills.
  • Ability to multi‑task, work well under pressure, be self‑reliant and focus on team success.
  • Ability to work in a fast‑paced, deadline‑driven environment.
  • Flexible and adaptable to changing responsibilities and business environment with strong attention to detail.
  • Passionate, positive attitude, willingness to learn new tasks and teach internal partners and teammates.
  • Committed, professional, ownership and accountability.
  • Participate and strive to achieve excellence and enjoy the work.
