Receptionist job opening in North York, ON

Worksite: North York, ON (On-Site | TTC Accessible)

Pay Rate: $18-$20 per hour plus 4% vacation pay paid weekly

Working Hours: Monday to Friday | 8:30 AM - 4:30 PM

Term: Immediate start, 3 months to start with potential extension or more

We are currently seeking a reliable and personable Receptionist to support a busy, community-focused governmental support organization in North York, ON. This is a temporary opportunity for approximately 3 months, with the possibility of extension or longer-term opportunities based on organizational needs and performance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Serve as the first point of contact, welcoming Jamaican newcomers and visitors while providing assistance in a professional and courteous manner
  • Manage incoming calls and emails, directing inquiries to the appropriate teams
  • Handle incoming and outgoing mail, courier arrangements, and document distribution
  • Maintain organized records, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality of sensitive information
  • Support basic administrative functions such as filing, data entry, and report preparation
  • Assist with office coordination tasks, including monitoring office supplies and liaising with vendors for maintenance or service needs
  • Provide general administrative support to internal departments as required
What You Bring
  • Previous experience in a front desk, receptionist, or administrative support role
  • Strong communication skills with a customer-service mindset
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced setting
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel) and general office equipment
  • Professional demeanor with the ability to handle confidential information with discretion
