Library Clerk Position

Position: Selkirk College Library Clerk Position
Join Selkirk College as a Library Clerk, engaging with patrons through circulation tasks and support services. This sessional part-time position requires 20 hours of service each week.

In this role, you will report to the College Librarian, responsible for public services and assisting patrons with various library functions. You will help with circulation duties, support patrons in using library equipment, and share your knowledge of the library system to enhance their experience.

Key Responsibilities:

• Charge and discharge library materials effectively

• Assist patrons with copying, printing, and scanning

• Ensure materials are shelved accurately and orderly

• Provide directional information and orientation to visitors

• Undertake additional duties as directed by the supervisor

Requirements:

• High School Diploma; some higher education is preferred

• Minimum one year of experience in a library or similar setting

• Familiarity with Integrated Library System (ILS)

• Excellent customer service and communication skills

• Proven critical-thinking abilities in a multi-tasking environment
