Reporting to:

Director, Library and Information Services

Hours of Work:

Occasional Morning, Evening, and/or Weekend shifts

Start Date:

October 1, 2026

Hourly Rate:

$17.95/hour

POSITION SUMMARY:

The CMCC Library requires two (2) additional students that will be responsible for assisting the staff in performing various circulation desk duties. Students will support the staff during extended library hours as well as staff vacations and sick days. Training will be provided.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Opening and closing the library on an emergency-basis
  • Check-in and check-out of library materials
  • Maintain circulation desk statistics while at desk
  • Answer telephone calls, take messages, and handle customer inquiries
  • Re-shelve incoming materials
  • Assist with photocopiers
  • Become familiar with overall library procedures
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • CMCC students currently in Years I & II preferred.
  • Previous experience with library procedures is an asset.
  • Must be flexible to work posted shifts when required; prior notice will be given.
