Overview of Position
HUB International continues to grow and transform. We are looking for an insurance professional with deep insurance and carrier knowledge combined with the ability to develop strategies for Business Insights to enable a deeper partnership with our carriers. This role will be working with carriers to focus on building out our value through risk engineering, claims, and building our overall value proposition with the carriers.

This role will work in the Toronto office reporting to the National Chief Marketing Officer, Canada and will work collaboratively with all regions, practice leaders and the National CMO to provide business insights and develop strategies to grow our relationships with our key strategic partners, supporting the Presidents, Chief Marketing Officers and Chief Sales Officers across the HUB’s in Canada.

The goal is to determine growth strategies that include proprietary products, programs, pricing, and partner with our carriers to create value for our clients through risk engineering and claims building a stronger and a differentiated proposition for our sales force allowing distinct market competitiveness. Support includes review of results, determining where we need to focus, initiatives to support and executing on initiatives.

Primary Responsibilities
The  VP Carrier Strategies and Relations  serves as an integral role supporting National and Regional leaders, developing strategies and strong carrier relationships.

Industry sector and vertical (external and internal) research and planning to support distribution strategy, product development, program development and sales focuses

Partner with and support Regional CMOs, CSOs and COOs in driving successful results including Market intel, carrier appetite, and compensation models

Modelling CPC/GSC agreements and proactively forecast revenue including working with regional teams on gap filler initiatives

Assisting with revenue budget initiatives

Review and analysis of broker compensation plans and contracts

Unlicensed insurer placement compliance and strategy

Support national projects that enhance client placement

Support national projects supporting carrier placement and growth strategies, including MGA and Lloyds placement strategies

Contract analysis and management of carrier and Lloyds partnerships

Build strong relationships with strategic partners

Qualifications and Experience

University Degree or College Diploma in Business Administration or Finance or equivalent experience

10 years + experience in commercial insurance industry focused on financial and business analytics

Budgeting and forecasting experience

Contract management experience with emphasis on broker compensation programs

Effective negotiation and communication skills: verbal, written and presentations

Strong collaboration and influencing skills at the Executive and Senior Management level

Business development or sales operations experience

Proficient in Microsoft Office:
Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Power BI

Insurer company experience preferred

Effective influencing and negotiation skills

Strong attention to detail and time management
