What will you work on?The Category Lead, Indirect Procurement plays a key role in supporting the efforts of the Procurement team ensuring Spin Master obtains the best combination of pricing, service and quality across indirect spend categories of goods and services.
How will you create impact?- Savings Tracking
- Track savings across multiple procurement initiatives
- Validate expected savings against actual spend
- Engage with cross functional team members from different business units such as Procurement, Finance, External Consultants, Marketing, Logistics, IT, etc
- Ensure all documentation is properly captured and tracked
- Invoice Validation
- Work with External Consultants to ensure all invoices are properly aligned with savings opportunities
- Liaise with finance to ensure invoices are coded to appropriate cost centres
- Integration focal
- Coordinate with team Integrating new business unit into Spin Master
- Maintenance of all documentation related to identified synergies between business units
- Prepare Presentations
- As needed views of current state of savings and spend tracking
- Sourcing Strategy
- Under the direction of the Senior Category Manager, create global procurement strategies for assigned indirect spend categories to reduce costs, increase operational efficiency and mitigate business risk
- Sourcing
- Design and execute sourcing events (RFx), analyze supplier proposals, negotiate, and manages post award supplier activities
- Stakeholder Management
- Develop and maintain collaborative relationships with both internal and external stakeholders, including driving compliance to procurement strategies, policies and processes
- Contract Management
- Partners with business units and legal team in the negotiation of contracts and agreements, including Master Services Agreements, Statements of Works and Service Level Agreements
- Reporting Analysis
- Prepare analysis and provide high level reports on data needed for strategy development including spend data, market data, business process metrics, cost modelling and category opportunity analysis
- Tactical Purchasing
- Issue purchase orders utilizing e-Procurement system, administer supplier approval and setup, and support continuous improvement of the technology enablement initiative
- Project Management
- Facilitates implementation of procurement initiatives by driving cross-functional team collaboration. Responsible for ensuring consistent standardization of procurement processes while driving global procurement strategy
- Efficiency
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to define SLA's and KPI's for suppliers and assist business units in measuring supplier performance
- Value Add
- Support ad hoc requests, including one-off tactical sourcing requirements for internal business units
- Integrity
- Interact with internal and external stakeholders in a professional and ethical manner, adhering to procurement best practices
- Category management and/or strategic sourcing experience of indirect goods and services, ideally including logistics procurement
- Experience with contract management and working knowledge of contract law would be an asset
- Direct exposure to the Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG) industry is preferred
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite including Excel, Visio and Power Point
- Experience with SAP procurement and Procure-to-Pay Process
