Our client, a top banking institution in Canada, is seeking to hire a Business Analyst (Wealth Management - Operations) for a contract of 3 months with potential extension or possible conversion to permanent . The role is hybrid, requiring presence in the Toronto office 3 days a week (Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday).
Typical Day in Role:
The Business Analyst will collaborate with multiple stakeholders across various groups (including Scotia McLeod, Operations, Finance) to gather and document requirements using the Business Requirement Document (BRD), outlining the current and future states.
After 3 months, the analyst is expected to define the changes needed for developers to enhance commission calculations for advisors, and identify other potential improvements benefiting the bank.
The analyst will understand processes, create documentation, and confirm requirements to support the development of a new MS Access Database.
Utilize expertise in Excel and MS Access to analyze data, understand data sources, and reconcile data across files.
Candidate Requirements/Must Have
Skills:
5+ years of experience as a Business Analyst, with proven ability to gather and write Business Requirement Documents.
Recent project experience working with data in MS Excel and MS Access.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Nice-To-Have
Skills:
Knowledge of Wealth Management, including GIC products.
Experience in finance or reconciliation processes.
Previous Wealth Management experience.
Experience working with AS400 (Wealth system).
Soft Skills:
Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with senior stakeholders.
High attention to detail.
Effective time management.
Relationship building skills.
Curiosity and problem-solving mindset.
Education:
Bachelor's degree in a related field is required.
