Payroll Specialist

About the Opportunity

• Administer bi-weekly salary and hourly Canadian payrolls, including accurate and timely processing (hires, changes, terminations, timecard maintenance, bonuses, and other special payments), and reconciling and distributing payroll reports and data
• Administer investments and retirement savings programs tied to bi-weekly payroll contributions
• Responsible for the reconciliation and filing of all payroll and benefits-related remittances such as EHT, WCB, T4s, T4A, Releve 1, T2200s, benefit reconciliations, etc., and processing applicable payments, cheques, and EFTs
• Support year-end processing and reconciliation of payroll filings and returns (federal and provincial), and ad-hoc payroll reporting
• Assist projects and special initiatives as required

• 5+ years of progressive full-cycle payroll experience with multiple provinces and business entities, with strong working knowledge of payroll-related tax legislation and employment standards
• PCP designation from the National Payroll Institute (NPI) required
• University degree or College diploma required
• Excellent time management and organizational skills with the capability to multitask and perform in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills; meticulous attention to detail and accuracy
• Demonstrated professionalism when dealing with confidential and sensitive information
• Strong team player and customer service orientation

Pay Range:
$30 - $32 per hour
