Senior Business Analyst - Enterprise Programs
Location: Toronto, ON
Onsite Flexibility: Hybrid – two days in office, generally Wednesday and Thursday
Contract Details- Position Type: Contract
- Contract Duration: 6 months (with potential for extension)
- Pay Rate: C $65.00–C $70.00 / Hour (CAD)

The main function of a Business Analyst is to perform the analysis, design, implementation, modification, and daily functional support of all applications. This contractor will be working on a procurement system enhancement project within the Enterprise Program, CAO Line of Business, which runs enterprise-level transformation programs. The team consists of 5–6 internal members with a broader extended stakeholder group, and the successful candidate will work daily with procurement stakeholders, enterprise program teams, Project Managers, Business Analysts, Program Lead, Senior Project Manager, and other business stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities- Works with key stakeholders within all business functions to align technology solutions with business strategies
- Gathers requirements from business units and translates those to programmers and developers
- Prepares cost-benefit and return-on-investment analyses to aid in decisions on system implementation
- Demonstrates an informed knowledge of business functions to resolve problems and capitalize on improvement opportunities
- Supports one or more highly complex business processes
- Works on multiple projects as a project team member
- Serves as a liaison between the business community and the IT organization in order to provide technical solutions to meet user needs
- Understanding of Agile and Waterfall methodologies
- Experience leading stakeholder discussions and facilitating working sessions
- Strong documentation skills
- Experience with Confluence and Jira
- Proficiency with MS Office suite
- Experience documenting user stories and participating in Agile ceremonies
- Experience supporting QA and UAT
- Banking or insurance industry experience
- Understanding of IT project lifecycle
- Strong written and verbal communication; ability to manage difficult stakeholders
- Basic knowledge of programming languages in order to comprehend reading code and basic functions
- Ability to create business solutions that increase competitive advantage
- Ability to exercise good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions
- Project management skills in order to handle diverse projects, often times simultaneously, and meet aggressive deadlines
- Ability to solve technical problems/processes and understand complex details
- Ability to increase operating efficiency with produce high quality technical solutions
- A high level of interpersonal and verbal communication skills necessary to relate to other people at their systems knowledge level
- Ability to analyze complex situations and problems and do the necessary research using multiple sources of information to arrive at innovative solutions
- Experience with procurement processes/workflows
- Advanced degree (MBA or similar)
- Bachelor's degree in a technical field such as computer science, computer engineering, or related field required
- MBA or other related advanced degree preferred
- 5–7 years of Business Analyst experience required
- Interview process: 1 round – virtual via MS Teams with Hiring Manager, Program Lead, and Project Manager or Business Analyst
- Candidate may start while employment history and, if applicable, regulatory credentials are being verified by the supplier
- No regulatory credentials required upon start
