We’re looking for a part-time Payroll Administrator to join our payroll team based in our Morningside Support Office. This role is all about ensuring our people are paid accurately and on time, supporting payroll processes across the business, and providing clear, helpful advice to managers and employees.
You’ll work closely with the Payroll Manager, support office teams, and store management across Briscoes and Rebel Sport. You will play a key role in maintaining compliance, processing payroll changes, and keeping payroll operations running smoothly as part of a fast paced and supportive team.
This is a part-time position of approximately 20 hours per week, with availability required on Monday and Tuesday.
Your Day to Day- Process weekly and monthly end to end payroll with accuracy.
- Calculate wages, allowances, deductions, and leave entitlements.
- Manage manual pays, expense claims, PAYE, student loans, Kiwi Saver, child support, and other statutory deductions.
- Complete payday filing and employment updates to IRD within required time frames.
- Maintain accurate employee payroll records and process changes promptly.
- Support managers across the business with payroll queries and system guidance.
- Assist with system improvements and contribute to more efficient payroll processes.
- Provide backup support to the Payroll Manager as needed.
Must haves:
- 2 to 3 years of high volume, end to end payroll experience in New Zealand.
- Strong understanding of payroll and NZ tax legislation.
- High numerical accuracy and attention to detail.
- Proven problem-solving ability and good time management skills.
- Clear written and verbal communication.
- Experience with payroll systems, ideally Platinum.
