Job DescriptionLocation: Hybrid | Downtown, Toronto
Duration: 6 Months
Our client, a leading financial institution in Downtown Toronto, is looking for a Compliance Analyst – Risk, Audit to plan and perform compliance testing, audits, and monitoring activities across RIM and governance controls. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work with one of the Top 5 Banks in Canada.
Typical Day in Role- Assess control effectiveness related to records retention, classification, legal hold, and disposition; identify gaps and track remediation
- Interpret and apply regulatory requirements and advise stakeholders on compliance obligations and required actions
- Monitor and communicate regulatory changes, emerging risks, and compliance trends
- Support audit readiness, investigations, regulatory inquiries, and client escalations through research and analysis
- Prepare executive‑ready reports and summaries outlining risks, findings, and recommendations
- Maintain and update SOPs, procedures, and training materials
- Collaborate with Compliance, Legal, Risk, Privacy, and Technology teams to support effective control execution
- 5–7 years of relevant experience in Compliance, Risk, or Audit (Strong ability to interpret and apply complex regulatory, legal, and policy requirements related to records management, privacy, and information governance)
- Strong business writing skills for regulatory documentation
- 3+ years of experience creating and delivering presentations on insights to senior management
- Strong proficiency in MS Suite (Excel, Word, PPT)
- Strong understanding of records management lifecycle, including retention schedules, classification, legal holds, disposition, and audit requirements is preferred
- Experience supporting compliance testing, audits, or control assessments in a regulatory environment
- PowerBI
- Advanced analytical and problem‑solving skills, with the ability to assess control effectiveness and resolve complex issues
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities with strong organizational and time‑management skills
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively across cross‑functional teams
- Strong understanding of records management lifecycle, including retention schedules, classification, legal holds, disposition, and audit requirements is preferred
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting, Law, or related field
