The Business Development Coordinator supports the business development and client growth strategies of our Toronto lawyers, with a primary focus on pitches and proposals. The Coordinator will also promote the firm by assisting with lawyer nominations for various directories, awards and rankings, and providing support for client presentations, initiatives, events and conferences.
Key Responsibilities- Assists with drafting strategic proposals and pitch materials that are compelling, client-focused, and tailored to client needs.
- Works collaboratively with members of the business development team to develop winning proposal themes and business development content.
- Maintains database and prepares reports to track business development performance.
- Contributes to submissions for Chambers and other legal directories, rankings, and award programs.
- Researches and writes content for nomination submissions.
- Conducts business intelligence and market/competitive research.
- Uses CRM systems to track client interactions and maintain client records.
- Facilitates business development initiatives, including events, client presentations, and substantive seminars.
- Coordinates conference sponsor ships and related business development opportunities.
- Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in business development, marketing, communications or proposal writing, preferably within a professional services or legal environment.
- Post‑secondary degree or diploma in Communications, Marketing, Business, Law, or a related field is preferred. A Paralegal or Law Clerk diploma is considered an asset.
- Exceptional writing and editing skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Knowledge of the legal industry and market is an asset.
- Ability to manage multiple work requests simultaneously by effectively prioritizing and planning work.
- Sense of urgency and ability to meet tight deadlines.
- Ability to communicate and work effectively across all levels of the organization.
- Demonstrated initiative, adaptability and a commitment to continuous learning.
Salary Range (Toronto Only): $55,000 - $65,000 annually.
