Proposal Manager
As a Proposal Manager at Aecon, you will lead the development, production, and formal submission of Requests for Qualifications (RFQs), Requests for Proposals (RFPs), and related documents for major project pursuits identified by Aecon’s executive team.
What You'll Do Here:- Manage and oversee Aecon’s formal submissions in response to RFQs, RFPs, EOIs, and Market Soundings.
- Lead major proposal pursuits where Aecon is the lead partner in a joint venture (JV) partnership.
- Manage Aecon submission responses when a JV partner is the pursuit lead.
- Schedule and lead proposal/bid meetings.
- Coordinate input from partners and internal stakeholders.
- Oversee document management throughout the proposal process.
- Manage assigned Proposal Coordinators and mentor non‑management proposal team members.
- Prepare presentations, executive summaries, and reports as needed.
- Package and deliver final proposal submissions on time.
- Travel as required to work with JV partners.
- Coordinate with Aecon’s internal graphic design team to develop proposal material, including logos and identity guidelines.
- Review and develop a detailed understanding of client proposal requirements.
- Develop proposal calendars and responsibility matrices.
- Write, edit, and format proposal sections, resumes, and project sheets.
- Support additional content development with corporate subject matter experts and site personnel.
- Track and ensure timely provision of deliverables from internal and external partners.
- Perform compliance checks on all submittal documents.
- Organize and run team reviews.
- Attend pre‑bid and post‑bid debrief meetings and summarize results and lessons learned.
- Allocate approximately 70% of time to reading, writing, editing, and formatting, and 30% to organizational activities.
- Perform other duties as required.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience.
- 3–5 years of experience in proposal management on major construction projects.
- Strong knowledge of major project development and procurement processes.
- Excellent content management and development skills.
- Ability to synthesize and present technical information to diverse audiences.
- Experience in a fast‑paced, performance‑driven environment.
- Demonstrated leadership, accountability, and interpersonal skills.
- Advanced oral and written communication skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, SharePoint).
- Proficiency in Adobe InDesign.
- Collaboration and teamwork abilities.
- Strong time‑management and prioritization skills.
- A proactive, problem‑solving attitude.
- Willingness to travel to various job sites.
- Valid driver’s license.
Pay Range: $90,000–$120,000.
