OverviewThe Business Development Account Manager (AM) is responsible for nurturing communication with active clients and identify opportunities to drive business growth, playing a vital role in building revenue and strategy and fostering sustainable client relationships. Working directly with our Business Development Directors, this role involves understanding and managing client needs on a day-to-day basis, developing tailored solutions, and presenting them effectively.
The AM works closely with sales, admissions, operations, marketing, admissions, and client care teams to ensure customer satisfaction and retention. Additionally, they analyze market trends and competitor activities to identify new opportunities and meet targets. Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential, as the AM acts as the primary point of contact for clients, ensuring their needs are met while fostering long‑term partnerships.
$80,000.00 - $95,000.00 annually, plus bonus/commission.
ResponsibilitiesStrategic functions include:
- Develop and maintain long-term relationships with key clients and stakeholders to foster loyalty and trust.
- Collaborate with leadership to define business objectives and strategies that align with overall company goals, including business planning and forecasting to support strategic selling plans.
- Work with the Transition team for new accounts and managing the onboarding process.
- Craft tailored solutions and value propositions that address specific client challenges and needs.
- Identify and prioritize high-value accounts to focus efforts on the most promising opportunities.
- Research and analyze market trends, customer needs, and competitor activities to identify growth opportunities.
- Providing advisory, reporting and process enhancement recommendations for new business strategies and approaches.
- Participating in Professional Development Plans (IDP) for career growth.
Tactical functions include:
- Conduct regular meetings and check‑ins with clients to understand their needs and gather feedback.
- Working with the account Directors, develop overall strategy, create and present proposals, finalize contracts, and build pricing models for clients.
- Work with internal teams (BD, marketing, admissions, operations, and client care) to ensure client requirements are met effectively.
- Monitor account performance, analyze results, and adjust tactics as necessary to meet or exceed goals.
- Primarily working out of the Toronto, ON National Office.
- Travel – May be required to travel to client locations, Regional Canada locations, National Office (Toronto, ON), and North American conference locations.
- Minimum of 3 years Enterprise Account Management experience with a proven track record of achieving results.
- Post‑secondary education in business related discipline preferred.
- Demonstrated success in business development, account management and exceptional customer service skills.
- Proven experience in building and delivering strong sell‑in presentations to team members including Directors up to Vice President of Business Development.
- Experience in healthcare or mental health sectors preferred.
- Experience collaborating for results, working in a fast‑paced environment, great organizational skills and demonstrated positive leadership style.
- Able to interface internally at all levels within the company with optimism, tact, resilience and diplomacy.
