Work Arrangement
Hybrid (3 days in person, 2 days remote)

Work Term
8 Months (Sept. 2026 - Apr. 2027)

Compensation
The hourly pay range for this position is $21.80 - $27.00. Individual pay within this range is determined by factors including the year of study, type of academic program, and the number of prior co‑op work terms completed.

Job Description
The Strategic Sourcing Assistant is responsible for assisting in sourcing projects, creating procurement strategies, analyzing spend categories, ensuring contract terms and conditions compliance, and liaising with cross‑functional departments to meet cost‑reduction targets and supplier performance goals.

Key Responsibilities

Identifying suppliers and developing strategic relationships for Capital Equipment and MRO.

Understanding market conditions and effectively communicating trends and forecasts to stakeholders.

Supporting the RFP, RFQ, RFA, and negotiation processes with a focus on creating value.

Working with Legal and stakeholders to negotiate contract terms and conditions.

Collaborating with stakeholders to manage the supplier portfolio effectively.

Developing and executing category strategies, vendor pool, and sourcing plans.

Managing supplier performance and developing and monitoring KPIs for key suppliers.

Ensuring contract commitments are met and entered into the ERP system.

What You’ll Need To Succeed

Currently pursuing a post‑secondary degree or diploma in Supply Chain Management, Procurement, Sourcing, or a related field.

Enrolled and eligible for an 8‑month co‑op program starting in the Fall 2026 work term.

General understanding of sourcing, category knowledge, and supplier management experience.

Organized and capable of multi‑tasking several projects with multiple team members.

Self‑starter with high initiative, persistence, and curiosity.

Strong initiative to understand a problem and work independently to solve it.

Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite applications and strong Excel skills.

Previous work experience in a supply‑chain or operations environment preferred.

Database skills and ERP experience are a plus.

Language:
English, basic French a plus but not mandatory.

Strong written and oral communication skills.

Organized and able to manage multiple responsibilities and deadlines.

Physical Effort
Normal or frequent minor physical effort required for day‑to‑day activity in the workplace, including standing, sitting, walking, climbing stairs, and lifting or moving objects or equipment up to 20 lb.

Work Environment
Acceptable working environment with minor or almost no disagreeable or challenging conditions as part of everyday expected levels. All jobs may occasionally experience undesirable or disagreeable events.
