Purposeof the function
The Training Manager, based in Toronto, ON, leads affiliate-wide learning for both Head Office and Field teams. This role serves as the single point of contact for company onboarding, new employee training, ongoing learning and development, and training readiness for key business moments such as new product launches. Working in close partnership with HR, Hiring Managers, Functional Heads, and Brand Teams, the Training Manager will design, implement, and continuously improve cross‑functional training programs that build capability, ensure compliant execution, and accelerate performance across the organization.
Roles and Responsibilities- Own the end-to-end learning ecosystem, including onboarding, role‑based curricula, capability frameworks, governance, and annual learning plans.
- Design and deliver impactful learning programs using blended learning approaches (virtual, in‑person, e‑learning, coaching, and simulations).
- Develop tailored onboarding pathways and training programs that accelerate employee readiness and performance.
- Partner with Commercial, Marketing, Medical Affairs, Market Access, HR, and other functions to identify learning needs and deliver business‑aligned solutions.
- Lead training readiness for product launches and strategic initiatives, ensuring teams are equipped with the knowledge, skills, and certifications required for success.
- Drive adoption of digital and AI capabilities, enabling employees to leverage emerging technologies effectively and responsibly.
- Collaborate with regional, global, and external partners to adapt, localize, and implement learning content and best practices.
- Measure training effectiveness through data, assessments, and business outcomes, continuously optimizing programs and learner experiences.
- Ensure all learning activities comply with legal, medical, regulatory, and industry requirements.
- Manage learning technologies, vendor relationships, and training budgets while fostering a culture of continuous learning and development.
Roles and Responsibilities
Education & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field; advanced degree preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in pharmaceutical or biotech sales training, with a focus on oncology products.
- In-depth knowledge of oncology therapeutics, disease states, and treatment landscape.
- Proven track record of designing and delivering effective sales training programs, preferably in the oncology field.
- Strong understanding of adult learning principles and instructional design methodologies.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and facilitation skills.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with cross‑functional teams and influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
- Experience with learning management systems (LMS) and other training technology platforms is a plus.
- Understanding of regulatory compliance requirements for pharmaceutical sales training.
- Willingness to travel as needed.
