Reporting directly to the CEO/Founder, the Senior Manager, Operations & New Business Development will play a critical role in supporting the company's growth strategy and operational excellence initiatives. This individual will be responsible for driving new business projects, coordinating store development activities, managing timelines, partnering with vendors and contractors, improving operational processes, and ensuring projects are executed efficiently from concept through completion.

The ideal candidate is highly organized, operationally focused, commercially minded, and capable of managing multiple priorities simultaneously while maintaining strong attention to detail.

Responsibilities
  • Lead cross-functional projects related to new store openings, renovations, relocations, and strategic growth initiatives.
  • Develop, manage, and track project timelines to ensure milestones and deliverables are completed on schedule.
  • Coordinate and communicate with architects, contractors, landlords, consultants, suppliers, and internal stakeholders throughout project life cycles.
  • Review construction bids, vendor proposals, and quotations to compare costs, timelines, quality, and project feasibility.
  • Identify risks, delays, and operational challenges while proactively implementing solutions.
  • Support site selection activities, market assessments, and operational feasibility reviews.
  • Partner with Operations teams to ensure new stores are opened successfully and operational standards are maintained.
  • Conduct field visits to monitor project progress, construction quality, operational readiness, and compliance requirements.
  • Assist in evaluating potential business opportunities, partnerships, and expansion initiatives.
  • Analyze operational processes and identify opportunities for efficiency improvements, cost savings, and scalability.
  • Work closely with Finance, Operations, Marketing, IT, and external partners to support growth objectives.
  • Assist with vendor negotiations, procurement activities, and contract management.
  • Support post-opening reviews and operational assessments to ensure project success and continuous improvement.
  • Take ownership of special projects and strategic initiatives as assigned by the Founder.
Qualifications
  • 7+ years of experience in Operations, Project Management, Business Development, Construction Management, Store Development, or related fields.
  • Experience supporting multi‑unit retail, restaurant, franchise, hospitality, or consumer‑facing businesses.
Required Skills
  • Strong project management skills with demonstrated success managing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Ability to interpret construction drawings, vendor proposals, budgets, and project schedules.
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities with excellent attention to detail.
  • Proven ability to coordinate multiple stakeholders and hold teams accountable to timelines and deliverables.
  • Strong negotiation and vendor management skills.
  • Highly organized with exceptional follow‑through and execution capabilities.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with a passion for operational excellence and business growth.
  • Comfortable working in dynamic, fast‑paced environments with changing priorities.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office, project management tools, and reporting systems.
  • Willingness and ability to travel frequently.
Preferred Skills
  • Experience in QSR, restaurant, retail, or hospitality environments strongly preferred.
  • Mandarin, Cantonese, and/or French language skills are considered assets.
Pay range and compensation package

Salary Range: CAD $100,000 to $120,000+ per annum
