Overview
We are seeking an experienced and client-focused Associate Vice President, Retirement to join our Financial Practice team. In this leadership role, you will serve as a trusted advisor to a portfolio of group retirement clients, delivering strategic consulting, investment guidance, and plan management expertise. You will also play a key role in business development and cross-functional collaboration across Gallagher’s practices. How you'll make an impact Serve as Lead or Co-Consultant for a defined block of group retirement clients, ensuring exceptional service and strategic alignment.Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, record-keepers, and internal teams to deliver integrated solutions. Prepare and present clear, insightful reports including investment reviews and annual plan performance summaries. Provide expert guidance on plan design, investment options, and regulatory compliance in simple, accessible language. Manage the RFP and vendor selection process, offering recommendations for record-keeper partnerships. Participate in and occasionally lead responses to RFPs for new business opportunities.
Support business development initiatives through cross-selling and prospecting within existing and new client relationships. Monitor service delivery against standards, proactively identifying and resolving issues. Coordinate and occasionally deliver retirement education seminars for clients and their employees. Provide investment guidance to plan members via phone or in-person consultations. Collaborate with clients and record-keepers to develop and execute communication strategies. Evaluate investment managers and record-keepers to ensure alignment with client goals.
Contribute to thought leadership through articles, presentations, and industry trend analysis. About you Minimum 10 years of experience in institutional retirement plans, investment consulting, or related fields. Bachelor’s degree in Business, Mathematics, Finance, or a related discipline. Professional designations such as CFA, CIPM, ASA, CFP, RPA, or CEBS are considered strong assets. Deep understanding of Capital Accumulation Plans (CAPs), Canadian pension legislation, and group retirement savings plans.
Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to simplify complex concepts. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite; strong planning and time management skills. Bilingual in French is an asset. A collaborative team player with a proactive, solution-oriented mindset.
