JOB DESCRIPTION

Location: Hybrid | Downtown, Toronto

Duration: 12 Months

Our client, a leading financial institution in Downtown Toronto, is looking for a Manager, Credit Card Engagement & Retention to promote a culture of accountability, transparency, and continuous improvement across work streams. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work with one of the Top 5 Banks in Canada.

Typical Day in role:
Enable squad effectiveness and focus
  • Support the Squad Lead by taking ownership of day-to-day coordination, allowing focus on cross-squad strategy, prioritization, and dependency management
  • Proactively identify risks, bottlenecks, and execution gaps to ensure smooth delivery and maintain focus on strategic priorities
Drive cross-workstream alignment and orchestration
  • Ensure the 3 core work streams (Marketing, Data & Analytics, Digital) operate as a coordinated unit, fostering alignment on priorities, timelines, and outcomes
  • Break down functional silos by facilitating regular alignment forums, shared planning, and transparent communication
Standardize and enforce delivery discipline
  • Establish and maintain standardized marketing workback schedules, with clear guardrails tailored by campaign type
  • Monitor adherence to timelines and proactively escalate risks to ensure on‑time, high‑quality delivery
Project manage complex, cross‑functional initiatives
  • Lead end-to-end execution of initiatives involving Technology, Marketing, Risk, Operations, and Finance
  • Coordinate deliverables, manage dependencies, and ensure alignment across all stakeholders
Execute business routines and performance tracking
  • Run structured business routines (e.g., stand‑ups, delivery checkpoints, stakeholder updates) to maintain momentum and visibility
  • Track initiative progress, campaign readiness, and key performance indicators, surfacing insights and actions
Support campaign execution and optimization
  • Partner with Marketing, Analytics, and Product teams to support the launch and optimization of targeted engagement campaigns
  • Ensure operational readiness across eligibility, audience selection, and execution logistics
Facilitate stakeholder alignment and communication
  • Act as a central point of coordination across teams, ensuring clarity on roles, timelines, and deliverables
  • Prepare clear, concise updates for leadership to support informed decision‑making
Foster a collaborative and accountable team culture
  • Promote a culture of accountability, transparency, and continuous improvement across work streams
  • Reinforce disciplined ways of working that support scalability and consistency
Must Have

Skills:
  • 3+ years of experience in Marketing, Payments, Product Management, or related roles
  • Previous experience as Squad Lead by taking ownership of day-to-day coordination, allowing focus on cross-squad strategy, prioritization, and dependency management
  • Recent experience with Project management skills and worked on complex, cross-functional initiatives.
  • Experience working in cross-functional teams within a matrixed organization
Nice-To-Have

Skills:
  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies and squad-based delivery models
  • Previous experience with the Banks and financial institutions with understanding of credit card products.
Soft

Skills Required:
  • Strong project management and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and timelines
  • Proven ability to coordinate complex initiatives and align diverse stakeholders
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to distill complex information into clear, actionable updates
  • Strong problem-solving skills, with a proactive approach to identifying and resolving issues
  • High attention to detail and commitment to execution excellence
  • Ability to build relationships and influence without direct authority
  • Solid analytical mindset, with the ability to track performance and translate insights into actions
Education:
  • Bachelor’s Degree required
