Manager for Actuarial Development

Shape actuarial practices with Great-West Lifeco as a Manager of Actuarial Research & Development in Toronto. This role emphasizes strategic oversight in mortality and lapse studies and team mentoring.

In this permanent, full-time position, you will be pivotal in overseeing the production of key experience studies while ensuring best practices in analysis.

Your role requires strong analytical, critical thinking, and communication skills as you work alongside colleagues on various projects. Guiding direct reports while implementing improvements will be key to achieving success.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct annual mortality and lapse experience studies

• Develop and recommend actuarial assumptions based on data

• Assess impacts of assumption changes on business

• Identify and implement process improvements

• Mentor and manage a small team effectively

Requirements:

• FSA/FCIA with 3-5 years relevant experience

• Proficient in Microsoft Office, SQL, and R

• Familiar with U.S. life insurance products

• Strong communication and teamwork abilities

• Excellent analytical skills and decision-making
