The Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario (AGCO) is an agency where innovation thrives, ideas flourish, and passion drives us to new heights of excellence. Reporting to the Ministry of the Attorney General, the AGCO is responsible for regulating Ontario’s vibrant alcohol, gaming, horse racing, and private retail cannabis sectors in accordance with the principles of honesty and integrity, and in the public interest.
The Strategic Planning, Prioritization, and Corporate Performance
Branch is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Advisor, Strategic Planning to provide strategic leadership in the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of AGCO's strategic planning, corporate performance, and integrated business planning frameworks. This role plays a critical part in advancing the organization’s strategic priorities by leading strategic planning, strategic foresight, organizational performance measurement, corporate reporting, enterprise prioritization, and strategic initiatives.
Working closely with executive leadership, cross-functional teams, and stakeholders across the organization, the successful candidate will provide strategic advice, performance insights, risk-based analysis, and evidence-informed recommendations that support executive decision-making, organizational resilience, accountability, and the achievement of AGCO's long-term strategic objectives.
We are seeking a highly collaborative and relationship-oriented professional who combines strong strategic planning, strategic foresight, organizational performance, and analytical expertise with exceptional communication and stakeholder engagement skills. The ideal candidate will excel at leveraging data, performance insights, emerging trends, and risk intelligence to inform decision-making, build partnerships, facilitate consensus, and support the development and execution of strategic priorities. They will be adept at navigating complex challenges, fostering alignment across diverse stakeholder groups, and delivering evidence-based solutions that advance AGCO's strategic vision, organizational performance, and long-term objectives.
WhatYou Will Do Strategic Planning
- Lead AGCO’s enterprise and divisional strategic planning by designing, implementing, and continuously enhancing integrated planning frameworks, methodologies, governance processes, planning cycles, and tools that connect long-term strategic direction to annual priorities, initiatives, resources, performance measures, and measurable outcomes.
- Design, facilitate, and advise senior leadership and cross-functional teams through strategic planning sessions that clarify priorities, objectives, implementation roadmaps, milestones, risks, dependencies, trade-offs, and decision points; monitor progress against strategic objectives, assess performance, risks, opportunities, and changing business conditions, and provide evidence-based advice, course corrections, contingency strategies, and planning adjustments to maintain alignment and support achievement of organizational outcomes.
- Lead the development and maturity of AGCO’s enterprise strategic foresight capability by embedding future-focused thinking into strategic planning, enterprise prioritization, strategic risk management, and executive decision-making; provide strategic intelligence by identifying emerging trends, uncertainties, opportunities, risks, disruptions, and implications for corporate priorities, regulatory approaches, organizational capabilities, and long-term direction.
