Compliance Analyst, Business
Pala Interactive is looking for a Compliance Analyst to work in a team to assist the Director of Compliance with the full product & platform lifecycle – from ideation, design, functions, and delivery - to ensure compliance with municipal, provincial and federal laws/regulations. As a trusted supporting member of the Compliance Department, the Compliance Analyst is required to have in-depth knowledge of gaming-related regulations and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams while advising on regulatory requirements.
The Compliance Analyst will assist with the oversight of compliance and regulatory-related issues and support the Director of Compliance in ensuring all products and services from Pala meet compliance standards. This individual will be responsible for maintaining compliance-related documentation, policies, and procedures, and ensuring that compliance best practices are followed across all functions of the organization.
Responsibilities- Assist with the review and implementation of Responsible Gaming & Anti-money Laundering (AML) activities and data for North American jurisdictions, including AML related regulatory submissions
- Assist with the review and management of submission of regulatory reports for North American jurisdictions
- Coordinate with clients for completion and submission of regulatory reporting
- Coordinate communications between Pala and gaming regulators
- Coordinate periodic assessments – platform certification, security assessments, internal audits, external audits, etc.
- Assist in the development, documentation and maintenance of compliance best practices and internal policies
- Build strong relationships with all teams, and participate in strategic and operational meetings
- Monitor compliance implementation and adoption between the teams
- Research and keep up to date on all regulatory requirements for North American jurisdictions
- Proven working experience in compliance and dealing with gaming regulators
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong research abilities
- Solid organizational skills including attention to detail and multitasking skills
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office
- Bachelor's Degree in appropriate field of study or equivalent work experience
- Willing and able to be licensed with gaming commissions in all jurisdictions, including clearing all necessary background checks and filing personal information
- Experience filing reports with FINCEN, FINTRAC, etc. is preferred
- Legal operations background in gaming regulations, compliance and licensing is a bonus
- Ability to work in a deadline-driven, fast-paced environment
- Ability to adapt to new environments, and the ability to identify, propose and implement changes and improvements
- Solid analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal
