Director, Post Production

The Role
Cineflix is currently looking to fill the full‑time role of Director, Post Production, based on a hybrid schedule in our Toronto office. Reporting to the Executive Vice President of Production and Administration the Director, Post Production will act as the primary liaison between the Production and Post Production teams. The Director, Post Production’s main focus will be to lead the day-to-day operations of the Post Production department, with high involvement in hiring and managing post production and post production related personnel, while ensuring seamless workflow between teams.

This role is ideal for a seasoned Post Production Supervisor ready to step into a leadership position.

Key Responsibilities
Operational Oversight

Manage post production staff and maintain in‑house online facilities.

Collaborate in the creation of post production budgets and schedules with the budgeting team.

Work with the Technical Director, Post Production in researching and implementing new technologies and workflows to enhance efficiency.

Production Support

Hire and manage stock footage researchers, post production coordinators, supervisors and assistant editors.

Maintain a robust database of local talent and seek out new talent.

Review broadcaster deliverable contracts with legal and business affairs.

Source and negotiate with post production facilities to ensure budget compliance.

Assign post coordinators and structure editing schedules in coordination with stakeholders.

Coordinate with Directors and Series Producers on animation and graphic work, including quotes and visual research.

Oversee Post bibles for all productions.

Oversee the Cineflix stock footage database and Cineflix music bank.

Delivery & Compliance

Oversee delivery of content and material requirements to broadcasters.

Manage the post production operating budget and materials delivery team.

Skills and Qualifications

Proven experience as a Post Production Supervisor or equivalent senior post production role.

Strong leadership and team management skills.

Deep understanding of post production workflows, technologies, and budgeting.

Excellent communication and strategic thinking abilities.

Ability to work assertively and diplomatically across departments.

Experience with broadcaster deliverables and legal compliance.
