Video Editor and Illustrator

Job Description

Insight Global is seeking an exceptional Video Editor and Illustrator for a Big 5 Canadian banking client:

• Create short‑form motion assets (30–60 second videos) that demo, explain, and promote new digital banking features for customers and employees.
• Storyboard, edit, and animate videos using Adobe After Effects, including compositing, typography, and light sound design.
• Develop interactive walkthroughs and motion comps to support training, adoption, and change management across web, mobile, and internal channels.
• Design and expand illustration/iconography libraries in Figma; maintain naming, tagging, and versioning conventions for reusable assets.
• Work with Lottie/JSON exports to deliver micro‑interactions and animations for UI components.
• Ensure brand and accessibility compliance in all motion and visual assets (e.g., motion sensitivity, color contrast, captions).
• Collaborate with product design, marketing, and communications teams to gather assets, manage feedback loops, and meet sprint timelines.
• Maintain excellent file hygiene and organization, proactively sourcing assets from designers and keeping projects moving independently.
• Operate in a fast‑paced, iterative environment, managing multiple stakeholders and deadlines with minimal oversight.

• 3+ years in motion design/video editing with a portfolio of short‑form product or feature demos.
• Adobe After Effects – strong proficiency (animation, compositing, typography).
• Figma – strong proficiency (components, variants, library usage).
• Storyboarding, micro‑interaction motion, and creating clean iconography/illustrations for UI.
• Understanding of accessibility considerations for motion and visuals (e.g., motion sensitivity, color contrast, captions).
• Excellent organization and file hygiene; able to source assets from designers and keep projects moving independently.
• Self‑starter who can operate with minimal oversight, proactively gather files from other designers, and flag risks early.
• Comfortable in fast‑paced, iterative environments with multiple stakeholders and deadlines. Financial institution experience.
