A Senior Medical Copywriter at Ogilvy Health collaborates within a multi-functional team of Creatives, Client Services, Strat Planners and Project Managers, and is a leader in the Writing Department. They are involved in a wide range of projects, including quality assurance, taking writing projects from first draft to final release, reviewing creative copy for accuracy and compliance, mentoring, presenting to clients, coming up with tactics for brands, and doing research for both existing and prospective clients.
Senior Medical Copywriters will have their work checked by a Creative Copywriter when necessary, and report to a more senior Medical Writer for mentorship and quality assurance.
What You’ll Do
Help foster a collaborative environmentWrite copy for any kind of promotional piece across any mediumAttend project briefs and work with the cross-functional teamWork with Art Directors at project inception to understand specs and text restrictionsBe a champion for assigned brandsCollaborate with other Creatives to achieve the project’s communications objectivesManage copy updates for assigned projects, and/or delegateManage and source reference documents for your brands, and/or delegateBe an expert resource for the cross-functional team on regulatory issues (PAAB, ASC, etc.)Provide insight into disease state and therapeutic landscape for your brandsProofread, when neededParticipate in brainstorms and ideation sessionsParticipate in conceptual development as part of the Senior Creative teamPresent internally or to clientsReview for quality assurance and provide final sign-off on pieces prior to releaseWhat You’ll Need
Relevant education (science degree)Medical/Pharmaceutical and/or CME experience is a must4+ years’ experience as a copywriter, in an agency or similar environmentAbility to craft engaging, digestible copy for any audience, in any channelExcellent command of English grammar, punctuation and spellingProfessional knowledge of medical terminology and expertise at articulating pharmaceutical process/requirements and managing regulatory submissionsAbility to work independently, manage multiple priorities and meet deadlinesDynamic thinking with skill for simplifying complex conceptsTo be a team player who is:Eager to collaborate and, at times, leadSolution-oriented and resourcefulAn avid listener and learnerMeticulous—attention to detail is a mustAccountable, independent, and mindful of othersSelf-motivatedHow We’ll Support You
The base salary range for this position at the time of this posting is indicated below. Individual compensation varies based on job-related factors, including location, business needs, level of responsibility, experience, and qualifications.
Salary Range $65,000—$115,000 CAD
