Why This Role Exists
Pophaus produces high-volume, performance-driven creative for CPG and DTC brands. We are looking for a hands-on Art Director who can own visual direction across ads, product shoots, email, motion, and social graphics, and elevate quality without slowing execution.
This is not a conceptual-only role. You will make visual decisions, guide execution, and raise the bar on ad creative.
Core Responsibilities Visual and Ad Creative Direction- Own visual direction for paid ads including static, motion, and short-form video
- Define and refine ad visual systems that balance brand and performance
- Ensure ads feel native to Meta, Tik Tok, and other paid placements
- Direct the visual approach for product shoots and studio content
- Build mood boards, shot direction, and layout guidance
- Ensure consistency across campaign assets and channels
- Guide visual systems for email design, social graphics, and templates
- Provide direction on motion design for ads and social content
- Review and elevate layouts, typography, hierarchy, and composition
- Work closely with the Creative Director, Designers, Photographers, and Editors
- Give clear and decisive feedback that teams can execute quickly
- Support pre-production and on-set creative when needed
- 5+ years as an Art Director or Senior Designer with ownership over visual direction
- Strong experience working with CPG or DTC brands
- Proven background in:
- Visual direction of paid ads
- Product photography and studio shoots
- Email design systems
- Social media and performance graphics
- Motion design direction, hands-on or directed
- Agency experience or equivalent fast-paced creative environment
- Strong understanding of North American consumer brand aesthetics
- Experience using Gen AI tools for concept exploration, visual references, or creative iteration
- Familiarity with AI-assisted workflows in creative production
- Adobe Creative Suite including Photoshop, Illustrator, and After Effects
- Figma
- Ability to work independently with minimal oversight
- Strong visual taste paired with performance awareness
- Ability to move fast and make decisions without overthinking
- Understanding of how ads perform, not just how they look
- Agency-ready and execution-focused
- Portfolio-only or conceptual-only creatives
- Slow or process-heavy operators
- People who need constant direction
