Job Description
Metroland is excited to be participating in Canada’s '' which aims to which aims to promote local journalism in underserved communities in Canada.
and the Huntsville Forester are seeking an energetic, keen reporter with a degree in journalism or equivalent for a unique and exceptional opportunity.
During this temporary full-time contract, you will be expected to produce a minimum of 5-7 stories weekly which will appear on Your stories will be available for upload to other media outlets and the many Metroland publication websites.
The contract ends March 31, 2027.

Annual Salary: $44, - $ 56,
While you work virtually, you must be available to complete interviews and take photographs in the area.
Your salary will be paid by Metroland, with a portion coming through funding from the Government of Canada.
The successful candidate will focus on civic journalism in the Huntsville and Lake of Bays areas. This may include covering Huntsville, Lake of Bays and Muskoka District councils, school boards, law enforcement, courts, fire departments, Crown corporations, government agencies, federal Parliament or provincial legislatures.
