The Role Boat Rocker Studios is seeking a dynamic individual who takes initiative, feels passionately about their work and will support the Boat Rocker Creative Affairs team on a variety of new and ongoing projects. Our ideal candidate is enrolled in media studies or a related field, and is eager to learn about the media industry and adapt to the fast-paced, ever changing environment.

* This role is part of a hybrid work model and will require you to work from our Toronto office 3 days per week. We will be offering Ontario minimum wage for this role. Only students pursuing a relevant area of study will be considered for this position; those pursuing a non-relevant field will not qualify.


Responsibilities
  • Manage the department’s filing systems, databases, and other administrative tasks
  • Draft meeting minutes and distribute accordingly
  • Manage various team calendars and coordinate meetings
  • Review creative materials and compose coverage
  • Ad hoc research projects related to series in development
  • Create talent, writer and director lists for projects in development
  • Support ongoing production matters as needed
Qualifications
  • Pursing a degree in media studies or a similar field is required
  • Possesses excellent communication skills, positive attitude, and problem-solving approach
  • Must be well organized, detail-oriented, and efficient
  • Ability to work both independently and as a team player
  • Sharp creative instincts with a general understanding of the television landscape
  • Understanding of story structure, character development and written prose is an asset
  • A self-starter with a keen interest to learn
  • Confidence in person and on the phone
  • Enthusiasm and passion for TV
Interns Will Have the Opportunity To:
