Cella by Randstad Digital is seeking a highly skilled Learning & Development Designer/Developer to join a dynamic team focused on building capabilities for leaders and employees. Reporting to the Manager of Instructional Technology Development, you will be responsible for designing high-quality, multi-approach blended learning and performance solutions that support strategic business priorities. This role requires a blend of instructional design expertise and creative graphic design to develop interactive web-based assets, media, and graphics that strengthen employee knowledge and performance.

The ideal candidate has a background in Instructional Design / Development experience in building complex simulations.

This is a 9-month contract that allows the talent to work remotely from anywhere within Ontario, Canada.

  • You will act as a primary point of contact and subject matter expert, collaborating closely with internal colleagues, stakeholders and SMEs to shape the strategic direction of learning solutions.
Responsibilities
  • Instructional Design & Content Mapping:
    Design learning programs including instructional frameworks, content mapping, prototypes, narrative scripts, and storyboards across various delivery methods.
  • Creative Development:
    Author and develop visually engaging learning solutions such as eLearning simulations, online performance support tools, videos, and eBooks while ensuring alignment with brand standards.
  • Visual Graphic Design:
    Act as a technical subject matter expert in creative design, leveraging typography, photography, and illustration to interpret and develop what the learner sees (graphics, formatting, animations).
  • Accessibility & Inclusion:
    Ensure all learning solutions adhere to principles of diversity and inclusion, specifically maintaining learner accessibility standards.
  • Stakeholder

    Collaboration:

    Work directly with course owners and subject matter experts (SMEs) to capture knowledge and define the learner experience.
  • Strategic Consultation:
    Assess business requirements to recommend the most effective blend of instructor-led, hands-on, and web-based learning for a given solution.
  • Project Leadership:
    Participate in project scoping and planning, determining end deliverables and resources necessary for success.
Qualifications
  • 8+ years of

    Experience:

    Minimum of 8+ years in instructional design and development.
  • Complex Simulations:
    Proven experience building complex (Level
    4) simulations, videos, and assessments.
  • Articulate Expert:
    Expert-level proficiency in eLearning development using Articulate Storyline 3 or 360 and Rise 360.
  • Technical Literacy:
    Expert-level knowledge of Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Word) and strong creative graphic design skills.
  • Accessible Design:
    Experience designing fully accessible solutions following WCAG 2.1 guidelines, including testing with screen readers like JAWS.
  • Professionalism:
    Ability to think strategically, possess strong business acumen, and communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
  • Portfolio: A portfolio of past work in instructional design and development is required as part of the submission process.
  • Video Production:
    Experience with GoAnimate/Vyond, Adobe Premiere, Adobe After Effects, or Camtasia.
  • Adobe Creative Cloud:
    Proficiency in Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign.
  • Industry

    Experience:

    Previous experience within a banking or financial institution.
  • Virtual Tools:
    Experience with Adobe Connect, Web Ex, or MS Teams virtual learning tools.
