Wear Your Power CA is a women-founded non‑profit series, dedicated to uplifting women in the Toronto community through curated events and hubs. Plain Stripes is partnering with Wear Your Power Foundation to host the kickoff event for women of North York and Vaughan where participants will get free career and business coaching, networking opportunities, and corporate styling by a professional stylist.

Headshot Photographer

About the Role

Wear Your Power is looking for a friendly individual passionate about photography to capture professional Linked In‑style headshots for guests at our event. This role will help with editing the captured images and getting them media‑ready for participants.

What You’ll Do

  • Operate professional camera with ring light
  • Ensure lighting/backdrop is optimized
  • Help women feel comfortable and confident in front of the camera
  • Maintain tidiness of headshot photography station
  • Ensure accuracy of contact information of guest

You’ll Thrive if You

  • Have basic photography skills
  • Have good communication
  • Love to collaborate
  • Are able to give posing directions
  • It’s a plus if you also have photo editing skills!
Check‑in Host

About the Role

Wear Your Power is looking for an energetic and organized individual to assist the Program Lead and Operations Manager with event check‑in. The individual will ensure accuracy of guest information, obtain photography consent, and maintain flow of the event.

What You’ll Do

  • Update and log guest sheet
  • Ensure guest information is correct
  • Provide directions to event stations

Hospitality Coordinator

About the Role

Wear Your Power is looking for a friendly and energetic individual to create a welcoming atmosphere and support the flow of refreshments at our event.

What You’ll Do

  • Set up food and drink station (charcuterie, drinks, labels)
  • Monitor temperature‑sensitive items (cheese, meat, pastries)
  • Regularly check in on guests’ needs
  • Support check‑in area as needed
  • Assist with teardown after the event

  • Have hospitality experience (not required but nice to have)
Fashion Stylist

About the Role

Wear Your Power is looking for an energetic, fashion‑forward individual to assist the Head Stylist with outfit coordination and try‑on flow during our event.

What You’ll Do

  • Keep outfits sorted by size/category
  • Give styling advice and tips to guests
  • Help to steam clothing
  • Maintain cleanliness and look of styling station
  • Log which outfits went home with each guest (for tracking)

  • Have knowledge of fashion and can provide styling tips tailored to each individual

Content Creator

About the Role

Wear Your Power is looking for an organized, trend‑aware individual enthusiastic about social media marketing. The individual will assist the Marketing Manager with creating marketing collateral, managing our Instagram page, and engaging with our community. This role will also help with editing the captured images and videos taken at the event, and will benefit from video editing experience.

What You’ll Do

  • Ideate new Instagram posts
  • Design static posts and reels
  • Monitor and respond to comments on Instagram

You’ll Thrive if You

  • Have content creation experience
  • Light video editing experience
  • Have social media experience (not required but nice to have)
  • Have knowledge of media trends
  • It’s a plus if you are also available the following Monday, December 22nd, for video editing!

These are unpaid volunteer positions. These roles will require extended hours of standing and walking around the event venue.
