Summary
Skilled Alterationist performing retail clothing alterations on jackets, pants, and shirts to meet client expectations. Operates industrial sewing machines, performs hand stitching, and uses an industrial presser to deliver precise tailoring. Reports to the Head Tailor at the Bloor St., Toronto location and works collaboratively or independently to meet production goals.
Responsibilities- Measure garments and clients to determine alteration requirements and fit adjustments
- Operate industrial presser and other tailoring equipment to finish garments
- Maintain quality control and attention to detail for each completed alteration
- Collaborate with the tailoring team and communicate with Head Tailor to meet production targets
- Proven experience and expertise in retail clothing alterations for jackets, pants, and shirts
- Ability to sew on industrial sewing machines and perform precise hand stitching
- Experience using an industrial presser and standard tailoring tools
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to high‑quality finishes
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team to meet production goals
