In January 2022, Hope Muir joined as Artistic Director and has brought artistic acclaim to the company through her highly considered repertoire and artist development.

The National Ballet employs 140 artists, dancers, and musicians, and a similar number of production and administrative staff. Reporting to the Artistic Director, the Rehearsal Director directs rehearsals of existing ballets and new works, prepares for stagings, assists choreographers and stagers, restages assigned ballets, oversees lighting, costuming, make-up and stage setting, reports on readiness, completes cast assignments, maintains program casting, coaches dancers, teaches classical and contemporary technique, attends rehearsals and performances, evaluates standards, provides feedback, liaises with production and music departments, participates in fundraising, educational and publicity events and administrative duties.

Strong experience and interest in male classical technique and repertoire, overseeing full length productions, strong organizational and planning skills, effective communication, collaboration, physical stamina, and a solid commitment towards diversity, inclusion, and equity are required.
