We’re looking for an experienced, collaborative, and highly organized Audiobook Producer to join the Audio books team on a 15-month contract.

Our Audio books team produces high‑quality audio books that bring stories and ideas to life for listeners across a wide range of genres and audiences.

As part of this team, the Audiobook Producer will oversee audiobook productions from casting through final file delivery, ensuring projects are completed on time, on budget, and to the highest creative and technical standards.

Reporting to the Associate Publisher, Audio books, you will collaborate closely with producers, editors, directors, narrators, studios, and freelancers to manage multiple productions simultaneously while supporting the continued growth and success of our audio publishing program.

What you’ll do:
  • Produce approximately 50 audiobook titles annually, overseeing all stages of production from casting to final files.
  • Manage production schedules, bookings, and logistics across multiple simultaneous projects, including post‑production workflows and quality control.
  • Make thoughtful and creative casting decisions in collaboration with authors and internal stakeholders.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with authors, editors, studios, narrators, directors, freelancers, and vendors.
  • Monitor production quality, troubleshoot issues, and recommend solutions to ensure projects meet deadlines and creative expectations.
  • Support and oversee the work of freelance and in‑house directors, including providing guidance and feedback where required.
  • Balance production quality with approved production budgets and timelines.
  • Collaborate with internal teams on audiobook program development and production planning.
Experience and knowledge you’ll bring (qualifications):
  • Five years of related experience with a production company or studio, including project management and scheduling, or equivalent experience as a book editor or publicist.
  • Knowledge of audiobook production and publishing industry workflows is considered an asset.
  • Strong understanding of books, authors, storytelling, and audiobook format.
  • Knowledge of acting communities, talent management, and union regulations is considered an asset.
  • Exceptional communication, editorial, and relationship management skills.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously in a deadline‑driven environment.
  • Strong organizational and problem‑solving skills with excellent attention to detail.
  • Experience working collaboratively with cross‑functional teams and external partners.
