The Film Equipment Technician prepares, distributes, and receives filmmaking equipment in the Department of Cinema & Media Arts Equipment Room. The role provides service, technical support, and safe handling instruction to undergraduate students, graduate students, and approved faculty research projects.
EducationUniversity degree in a related field such as Film and Video Production, or equivalent of four years recent experience (within last five years) working at York University and performing the same or similar tasks.
ExperienceTwo years related experience in film and/or video production in a technical capacity; experience in operation of digital high-definition professional video cameras and audio recorders; experience working in a teaching environment.

- Ability to exercise good judgment and initiative.

- Ability to work accurately and effectively under pressure.
- Familiarity with audio and video editing software such as Adobe Premiere, Avid, Final Cut Pro, Pro Tools.
- Intermediate MS Office (Word, Excel, Access).
- Ability to use email software and internet browsers.
