Embark on a photojournalism journey with The Globe and Mail as a Photojournalism Apprentice. Capture impactful photography across news stories, features, and portraits, guided by industry veterans.
The Globe and Mail seeks two photo apprentices eager to undertake this six-week intensive. This role is perfect for up-and-coming photojournalists with a knack for storytelling through images. While flexible work hours are offered, candidates must be available for full-day assignments during their mentorship phase.
Key Responsibilities:
• Produce daily news content and feature photography
• Engage in portrait work and video filming
• Collaborate with The Globe’s acclaimed photo desk
• Learn from award-winning photographers, including Fred Lum
• Assist in coordinating overall project logistics
Requirements:
• Strong grounding in photojournalism, especially portraits
• Experience in covering various news topics
• Legal eligibility to work in Canada through December 31, 2027
• Required driver’s license and access to a vehicle
• Own camera gear including DSLR and editing software
