The Lead Copywriter helps shape our brand’s voice, craft compelling narrative across channels, and lead copy strategy for our brand creative team. You’ll translate brand strategy into persuasive, distinctive copy—packaging, campaigns, e‑comm, email, social and performance mediums—while mentoring writers and partnering with design, product, marketing and growth to ensure a consistent, measurable brand voice.

As a seasoned writer with a wealth of experience building brands with a growth lens, you understand the power and importance copy brings to a brand and ushering it to life. You can conceptualise brand and campaign platform ideas and see them to execution—no matter what channel they appear—in a way that scales our functional wellness brand. You are well‑versed in advertising and performance best practices, passionate about social and cultural conversations, and look to champion unexpected ideas that punch above their weight to deliver results and make Saje famous.

Equally, you are comfortable working within mediums that require systems and scale, and you understand the importance of copy as a medium to build work that works.

You are experienced at working with creatives from various disciplines and lift all boats as a leader, empowering skill‑set growth and encouraging greatness. As a brand on a mission to remedy real life, you find ways to proactively bring solutions to the table, shepherding a team of talented writers to their best work, daily, and are unafraid to lead with integrity, compassion and grit.

Responsibilities
  • Support in all brand development work as it pertains to content and copy and lead copy strategy for product launches and campaigns.
  • Own brand voice and messaging framework, ensure consistency across all touchpoints.
  • Conceptualise larger campaign ideas and umbrella concepts, working with the Creative Director and Design to ensure they are on strategy and on brand.
  • Collaborate with creative directors, designers, marketing, growth and product teams from brief to final execution.
  • Write and edit high‑impact copy: succinct headlines, persuasive body copy, e‑comm & email copy, and legal‑clearable product claims.
  • Develop naming systems, product line naming, and naming governance.
  • Create and maintain brand tone guidelines, messaging matrices and copy templates.
  • Partner with Marketing, Growth and Retail teams, becoming the go‑to expert with a wealth of knowledge around best practices and an encyclopedic knowledge of Saje’s products, benefits and brand positioning.
  • Lead and mentor the copy team to deliver timely, creative and on‑brand work that meets shared KPIs and briefing deadlines.
  • Advocate for team capacity, resources and professional growth opportunities and maintain 1:1s with your direct team.
  • Manage administrative tasks for your team (vacation approval, job descriptions, reviews and goals).
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory, legal and accessibility requirements (working with legal/regulatory teams).
