Responsibilities & Qualifications- Skilled in design with an emphasis on layout, colour, and typography.
- An advocate for brand identity with the drive to uphold a branding strategy.
- Able to conceptualize and present ideas collaboratively.
- Comfortable working under high pressure and tight deadlines.
- Able to manage multiple priorities and meet daily deadlines.
- A strong communicator who's also comfortable using Google browser-based tools.
- Able to work independently and as part of a team.
- Aware of news design trends and technology.
- Willing to continually enhance your design skills and bring ideas to the team.
- Available to work a variety of shifts, including early starts, evenings, statutory holidays, and weekends.
- Experience in conceiving and executing information graphics.
- Experience in conceiving and executing Data visualizations.
- Experience in motion graphics design.
- Work with Adobe Creative Suite (AE, PS, AI, Express).
- Knowledge of social platform formats, guidelines & limitations.
- Previous multi-platform News graphic design experience.
- Cartography:
Some experience making maps, both reference and thematic. - Basic understanding of CMS systems, coding, and scraping data.
- Illustration experience.
- A University or college degree or diploma in a relevant discipline, or an acceptable combination of education, training and experience.
- A minimum of two years of directly related experience.
Candidates may be subject to skills and knowledge testing.
