Position: Associate Podcast Producer, Special Features )

At LumiQ, we’re on a mission to make professional education enjoyable. As a modern, audio-first learning platform, we empower accounting and finance professionals to fulfill their continuing professional development requirements through engaging podcasts. Over the past five years, we’ve cultivated a devoted customer base of over 1,000 corporate and accounting firms across North America.

LumiQ is proud to be a 2025 Deloitte Quick 50 winner. We’re creating awesome proprietary content, nailing our go-to-market strategy, and being the first to shake up the industry. Most recently, we secured a strategic investment from Vertu Capital to fuel our expansion globally and continue executing on our exponential growth plans.

LumiQ is also a certified Great Place to Work! We’re all about transparency, ownership, innovation, and empathy. If you’re ready to make a real impact and help us transform professional education, we’d love to hear from you!

We’re looking for an Associate Producer to join our Special Features team, where we create high-production, long-form narrative stories that explore fascinating business topics. Past examples of these episodes include:
What Really Killed Kodak? Disney’s Acquisition of Pixar. Are the Olympics Worth it? The Cola Wars.

Who You Are:
  • You are curious:
You love going down rabbit holes to understand the full picture and look at the facts critically from every angle. You have a demonstrated ability to investigate complex topics (bonus if they’re financial or strategic business concepts).
  • You are resourceful:
The deep dives required to research our stories often involve information that can’t be found with a simple internet search. You’re able to think outside the box when it comes to researching and collecting material key to the story.
  • You are organized and detail oriented:
Our narrative episodes have a lot of depth and complexity and we often have several in production at the same time. This means a lot of moving pieces at once, so you must be able to balance projects, set and meet clear deadlines, and clearly communicate project progress.
  • You have a sense of story:
You think critically about story structure and the right way to make an educational story engaging.
  • A podcast lover:
In this role, you’ll have the opportunity to get deep in the weeds on narrative podcast production. Whether you’re just starting out or have worked in the industry before, you are excited to gain experience in every part of the production process, and to have the opportunity to grow into a role that suits your skills and interests.
  • Familiarity with production tools such as Descript and remote recording platforms is considered an asset.
What You’ll Be Responsible For:
  • Assisting with researching episodes:
We deeply research every narrative episode. You should be comfortable sifting through sources such as articles, archival video and audio, research papers, analyses, and financial documents to deepen our understanding of each episode's story and learning objectives. You’ll also be synthesizing that information to create high level outlines for producers.
  • Guest booking and communications:
We record with 2-5 guests per episode. We strive to find experts in finance, business, and relevant industries that can effectively speak to the learnings of each episode. You should feel comfortable reaching out to secure and vet guests. You will be their primary resource for booking outline calls and recording times, shipping microphones, etc.
  • Selecting tape:
You’ll be assisting the producers by organizing, selecting and labeling compelling and relevant tape from interviews as well as pulling the strongest takes from the host’s voicing sessions.
  • Writing:
In post-production, our episodes require a variety of written content. You will support producers with crafting things like visual aids and assisting in scripting trailers.

The expected base salary for this position is: CAD $60,000 - $65,000. Salary is based on a number of factors including market conditions, location and may vary depending on job-related skills and experience.
