The Dance Accompanist provides musical accompaniment (piano and/or percussion) for academic activities including studio classes, workshops, and performances in the BFA Program in Dance, under the direction of the Operations Manager.

Completion of a post‑secondary degree in Music Performance (Piano and/or Percussion) or a related field.

Minimum of 1 year related working experience as a dance accompanist for modern/contemporary and ballet classes.

• Advanced skills in piano and/or percussion.
• Advanced skills in sight reading and improvising, with ability to improvise in different and irregular time signatures and phrasings.
• Familiarity with historical classical and folk-dance forms (e.g., waltz, mazurka, polonaise, etc.).
• Ability to multi‑task and manage competing priorities.
• Ability to meet deadlines and organize time effectively.
• Ability to understand and relate to others.
• Ability to communicate with others to explain and share information.
