Position: Senior Editor, The COO Club

About The COO Club

Through , we’ve built a substantial audience around project delivery, work management, PM software, operational systems, and the practical ways teams get work done. Now we’re building on that foundation to create The COO Club – a senior media brand for those responsible for how work is designed, governed, automated, and executed.

The COO Club helps operations leaders make better decisions in the AI era through peer‑driven insights, practical frameworks, executive playbooks, software guidance, events, and community‑powered experiences. Our coverage focuses on AI‑enabled operations, organizational design, cross‑functional execution, operational efficiency, systems optimization, scalable delivery, and modern executive leadership. Our audience includes COOs, VPs of Operations, Heads of Delivery, operations executives, PMO leaders, transformation leaders, and senior practitioners looking for practical insight, trustworthy guidance, and meaningful professional connection.

About

the Role

We are looking for a Senior Editor to help build The COO Club into a trusted, community‑powered media brand for operations leaders and senior executives. This is not a traditional editing role focused only on publishing content. You will help define the voice, editorial strategy, contributor network, content formats, and audience experience for a new executive brand built on an existing audience foundation.

This role is responsible for growing loyal, engaged operations leadership audiences through authoritative, practitioner‑led editorial experiences across articles, newsletters, social, video, podcasts, live streams, events, and strategic partnerships.

Your work should increase subscriber growth, newsletter engagement, return audience behavior, topical authority, and trust with operations leaders and senior executives.

Who You Are

You understand how to create editorial brands that professionals actively trust, return to, and recommend. You are deeply curious about how COOs and operations executives operate, make decisions, adopt AI, design organizations, drive efficiency, and navigate cross‑functional complexity. You know how to turn practitioner insight into useful editorial experiences that feel credible, clear, visual, engaging, and worth sharing. You are not just a writer or editor—you are a builder of audience systems, community loops, and repeat engagement.

You think beyond articles and understand that modern editorial engagement happens across newsletters, video, podcasts, social, community discussions, live streams, events, partnerships, search, and AI discovery experiences. You are comfortable experimenting with formats, workflows, packaging, distribution strategies, and audience experiences to improve performance over time. You care about usefulness, clarity, audience trust, and measurable impact.

What You'll Be Doing
  • Build engaged, community‑powered editorial experiences that grow subscribers, increase newsletter engagement, and build loyal operations leadership audiences.
  • Create, assign, edit, write, and publish editorial content across articles, newsletters, social, short‑form video, narrative video, podcasts, live streams, events, and community formats.
  • Develop content informed by real practitioner insight, including interviews, contributor conversations, operations and executive communities, surveys, Q&A, and social listening.
  • Create audience experiences focused on operational strategy, AI‑enabled workflows, organizational efficiency, cross‑functional execution, systems and tooling, and modern executive leadership.
  • Help program and support webinars, live streams, round tables, podcasts, and editorial event experiences.
  • Repurpose editorial IP into newsletter blocks, social content, video clips, lead magnets, reports, and community assets.
  • Ensure editorial output reflects the publication's tone, usefulness, authority, and audience relevance.
  • Continuously identify opportunities to increase audience participation, contribution, sharing, and return engagement.
  • Assign, edit, write, optimize, and experiment with JTBD, workflow, systems, tools, AI, and practitioner‑led content.
  • Build content that helps…
