Position: Full-Time Community Reporter Internship
Launch your journalism career with Metroland Media as a full-time Community Reporter intern. Get hands-on reporting experience while covering local news in Barrie, Mississauga, or Oshawa.

This year-long internship allows you to immerse yourself in innovative, digital-first community newsrooms. You will work collaboratively with editors and seasoned journalists, enhancing your reporting and research abilities. Expect to attend events, conduct interviews, and actively participate in team discussions while monitoring local news trends.

Key Responsibilities:

• Write original, high-quality journalism for local communities

• Attend events and conduct real-time interviews

• Participate in training to enhance reporting skills

• Join virtual and in-person content planning meetings

• Utilize news judgment for digestible storytelling

Requirements:

• Current or graduating post-secondary student

• Available full-time from September 2026 to August 2027

• Access to reliable personal transportation

• Comfortable working evenings, weekends, and holidays

• Must follow Canadian Press Style for submission
