Your RoleResponsibilities:
- Evaluate pitches and development materials for creative strengths, series design, budget feasibility, audience appeal and creative risks.
- Collaborate with producers, screenwriters and story executives to negotiate creative changes and provide constructive creative notes.
- Track and manage multiple projects through the development cycle, maintaining clear, detailed written correspondence.
- Participate in committee meetings, planning sessions, festivals and workshops; represent CBC at juries, panels and public functions.
- Keep abreast of competing television programming, Canadian talent and industry trends; advise on potential and ongoing projects.
- University degree or equivalent.
- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience, including internships and learning spaces such as BIPOC workshops.
- Strong knowledge of underrepresented communities across Canada; cultural awareness and sensitivity.
- High creativity with the ability to provide imaginative and effective script feedback.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills when engaging producers, writers, directors and other creative personnel.
- Ability to read and absorb large volumes of material while juggling multiple projects.
- Understanding of screenwriting and post‑production processes to create clear and effective notes.
- Knowledge of Canadian comedy series programming and industry trends.
- Ability to work within a complex organization with initiative and flexibility.
- Effective public speaking and representation skills.
